Miho Kitajima’s Beautiful Business Card

Miho Kitajima\'s kimono has Ultima Hair Sleeves

Hair extension artist and Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Miho Kitajima’s business card features this intricate traditional Japanese silk kimono that she and a friend designed and created.

The sleeves include Pro 10 Hair Extensions made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair. Miho is the inventor of her own unique method of applying hair extensions. She used her method, which is very popular in Japan, to do Cathleen Rittereiser’s hair extensions.

You can ask the Pro 10 Ambassador Stylists a question about hair extensions here.

Ask the Ambassador Stylist: What happens to the texture after I wash my Pro 10 hair extensions?

Question from Sandra: Will the texture of Pro 10 Bohemian wave come back after it is washed?

Kimmie, small photoResponse from Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Kimmie Lemard (left): The curl pattern of any textured Pro 10 hair extensions will loosen when shampooed. To restore the curl or wave, or to change the pattern, use a light leave-in conditioner, or a little mousse on damp hair. Use your styling tool of choice (rollers, rods, etc.) and dry under medium heat or overnight.

Cathleen Rittereiser’s Pro10 Hair Extensions Before & After

with extensionsCathleen Rittereiser, Wall Street executive. by day, comedy legend by night, had Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Miho remove her hair extensions after a month in which she went from pretty blonde to vah vah va boom glamour (left). Miho’s original method of applying the extensions requires no glue or extensive sewing. Cathleen was able to wash and style her hair the whole month she had them.

Cathleen’s own hairCathleen told me if was fun to try a different look, and to see people’s reactions to her sudden glamour look. “I’d definitely do it again for any number of reasons,” Cathleen said, like trying a new style, a special occasion, or wanting to get through the awkward stage of growing my hair out.

It was a little extra work to have extensions, she said, because long hair is harder to take care of than short. But it was worth the effort, and a lot of fun too, she said.

See other photos of Cathleen’s extensions in the No Bad Hair Days Blog’s Flickr Group. And while you’re there, join the group so you can upload your own before and after hair extension photos.

Ask the Ambassador Stylist: Do I have to curl Pro 10 and human hair at different temperatures?

Question from Blayde: How long does Pro10 made with Ultima last? If you integrate it with the hair, won’t the hair be hard to style due to the fact that your own hair will not curl at the lower temperature that Pro 10 curls? You would have to separate your own hair and curl the different sections at different temperatures. Is this correct?

Kimmie, small photoResponse from Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Kimmie Lemard (left): How long you can wear your Pro 10 extensions depends on a number of factors, including the skill of the stylist who applied them, the method used, and how well you take care of them. Most people wear their hair extensions anywhere from two to six weeks. Your stylist can help you decide when your extensions, braids or weave should be replaced.

If you are curling Pro10 in Caucasian hair that is not extremely curly or coarse, use a ceramic tool at temperature as high as 300. Additional information on heat styling is here

In African American, medium to coarse texture, you are correct that temperature settings at which you curl Pro 10 and human hair will have to differ. You can find a chart comparing Pro 10 and human hair here.

A History of Hair Color

color.png
From cavemen putting red earth in their hair, to men and women risking scalp burns with peroxide, humans have gone to great lengths to color their hair throughout history. From the Roman’s wigs made from the blonde hair of captive barbarians, to the gray wigs of British barristers, to the lacquered, black wigs of Japanese geishas and the wild hair colors favored by punks, hair color and style has been an important part of the dress of both men and women since antiquity.

You can change your hair color simply, safely, and easily by blending different shades of Pro 10 Hair Extensions into your hair to experiment with a new look or enhance your usual style.

Here’s an interesting article at Colourlovers blog. Want the nitty gritty about hair color? Find it here.
