Hannah Montana starlet Miley Cyrus, 15, spent six hours getting new hair extensions at the Juan Juan hair salon in Beverly Hills on Saturday, according to the Gossip Girls blog. Then, she and her mother, Tish, enjoyed some retail therapy at nearby shops.
On the Disney Channel’s recent 3D Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds concert, backstage footage showed Cyrus having her own hair wrapped so she could wear her alter ego’s trademark blonde wig.

Pop star Jamelia recently got herself some media attention by dramatically declaring that she’d never wear hair extensions again because of the “very real human costs” of obtaining hair for human hair extensions. “How did I know I wasn’t wearing a dead person’s hair?” she roiled in the Daily Mail. She even starred in a BBC show called “Whose Hair is it Anyway?” featuring shifty looking human hair dealers who take hair from dead people.
Dear Jamelia: There are alternatives to human hair extensions! And one of the best alternatives is Pro 10 made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair. Made with natural collagen, Ultima hair looks, feels like and has the best qualities of human hair. You can curl, blow-dry, wash, brush, comb, style and restore Ultima hair without tangling, and it’s affordable too.
As several commenters noted in the Daily Mail article “…All this hand wringing nonsense.”
Rock on Jamelia. Just switch to Pro 10 so you can keep having hair extensions as your “confidence booster” that “transform me from busy mum of two into my alter ego, Jamelia the pop star.”

Bellasugar’s fun celebrity hair extensions quiz is back. Take the quiz to see if you can tell which stars have naturally gorgeous hair and who gets a little extra help from the salon? Bellasugar says “I think when they’re applied by a talented professional, extensions can look natural and gorgeous.”
I know she’s right, because I work with some of the best professional hair extension stylists, and the extensions they do (like these) look completely natural. But I only guessed three out of six answers to the quiz right! Since I write No More Bad Hair Days blog, and see hair extensions all the time, I was sure I’d be able to guess them all. See if you can tell which stars have extensions, and let us know, in the comments, how you did.
It also would be fun to try to guess whose extensions are human hair and whose are Pro 10 hair extensions. When they’re Pro 10 Hair Extensions made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair, they look so natural even professional stylists can’t tell them from human hair.

Not everyone wants a huge head of Hollywood hair extensions. Brandy, R&B singing star and spokesmodel for Pro 10 Hair Extensions made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair, prefers her extensions chic, hip, and urban. Yaki’s thin lightweight wefts lay flat, and are easy to work with and manage. And Pro 10 hair extensions are resistant to tangles too.

Supermodel Kate Moss, in Berlin to launch her new fragrance, had a really really bad hair day when a weft of her hair extensions fell onto the red carpet and was quickly found by a photographer.
Moss needs to fire her hairdresser immediately because hair extensions - correctly applied by a professional extension stylist - don’t just fall out. Read FAQs about hair extensions here.
For example, when Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Miho applied hair extensions made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair in Cathleen Rittereiser’s hair, they were well-integrated into her natural hair and easy for her to manage the month she wore them. The practically undetectable technique Miho used was Brazilian braids, in which a few strands of natural hair are micro-braided into the hair extension fiber and secured with very thin, fabric covered ties. Cathleen kept a photo diary of her hair extensions experience.

When it comes to prom night, long, full hair - often achieved with hair extensions - is the crowning touch this year.
Teens are embracing the fast-growing trend of hair extensions, says Beth Fitzgerald in the LA Times
Prom-going young women want extensions so they can have the lush, long, full hair they see in magazines and on celebrities. Extensions also allow them to have highlights without chemicals; to add excitement to their prom look; and to try a dramatic style for the prom.

A recent report speculates that supermodel Naomi Campbell’s receding hairline, was “possibly caused by years of wearing hair extensions.” It appears that Campbell chemically straightens and probably also colors her hair, a combination that can cause damage to anyone’s hair.
Can hair extensions damage your hair? Not if they’re correctly applied, maintained and removed, says famed extension stylist Adriana Barrett. (Ultimahair FAQs here.)
Here are Barrett’s Dos and Don’t of safe use of hair extensions:
Share Thiso Have extensions applied and removed only by a professional stylist who is licensed, and also certified in the system being used.
o Avoid methods that require chemical adhesives, glues and tapes to apply extensions. Seek out a stylist who uses only organic sealants.
o Four-strand braids and keratin pre-tipped extensions are the safest methods of application. Brazilian braiding also is fine when skillfully done.
o Hair extensions should never hurt. Many “kitchen braiders” make extensions too tight.
o It is better to create many small extensions than fewer thick ones. Barrett says the amount of extension hair applied should be equal to the amount of hair to which it is attached. She uses as many as 150 tiny extensions on a full head. Adding too much extension hair to the natural hair will pull and stress the roots of the natural hair.
o Treat your hair gently and care for extensions carefully.
o Hair extensions must be replaced at least once every two months, and they should be removed by the professional who put them in.
“Do all celebrities wear hair extensions?” asks the fabulous Bella Sugar blog.
Or do they all just have thick, full hair that grows out from short to long at lightning speed without an awkward phase? :>)
Bella Sugar’s done a series of quizzes where you can see if you can guess. Take the latest “Does She or Doesn’t She Wear Hair Extensions?” quiz.
