Question: How do you keep up the Spanish Curl texture of Pro 10 hair extensions made with Ultima Protein Hair? Some people said to use mousse but others disagreed. Also what can i use at night?
Answer: O’kela Neveaux owner of Extended Beauty Salon and Boutique in Oak Park, Michigan: The best way to keep the Spanish curl pattern is to reset it before it begins to lose its natural pattern. Pro10 hair extensions can be set on rods or straws, and can be twisted or braided - or you can use a combination of two or more of those techniques together.
For night-time care: I always tell my clients that care is easy and any curl pattern will look better in the morning if they take a few minutes before they go to bed to refresh the extensions with water or a light styling product an then throw in a few rods, braids or twists under a satin bonnet to keep the curl pattern in tact.

Question: Blayde asks: Is there a new Pro10 texture coming out? What is it like? What is the soft yaki like? is it similar to African-American hair, or is it viable for Caucasian and clients whose hair is medium thickness?
Response: Soft Yaki and some other textures of PRO10 hair extensions made with Ultima Natural Protein Hair are similar and close to African American hair. The silkier ones which are suitable for Caucasian customers are available in Yaki and ripple wave. You can see and learn about all Pro10 colors and textures here.

No Bad Hair Days Blog reader Jacqueline Thomas asks: After my Bohemian texture Pro 10 hair extensions are washed and I apply mouse or conditioner, will the curl come back without using rods or rollers? Could I just sit under the dryer?
Response from Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Kimmie Lemard (left): “The curl will not completely go away but it will loosen up a bit. Sitting under the dryer without rods or rollers won’t get the curls back to their original state. You also can set it and let it dry overnight.”

Share ThisQuestion from Sandra: Will the texture of Pro 10 Bohemian wave come back after it is washed?
Response from Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Kimmie Lemard (left): The curl pattern of any textured Pro 10 hair extensions will loosen when shampooed. To restore the curl or wave, or to change the pattern, use a light leave-in conditioner, or a little mousse on damp hair. Use your styling tool of choice (rollers, rods, etc.) and dry under medium heat or overnight.
Question from Blayde: How long does Pro10 made with Ultima last? If you integrate it with the hair, won’t the hair be hard to style due to the fact that your own hair will not curl at the lower temperature that Pro 10 curls? You would have to separate your own hair and curl the different sections at different temperatures. Is this correct?
Response from Pro 10 Ambassador Stylist Kimmie Lemard (left): How long you can wear your Pro 10 extensions depends on a number of factors, including the skill of the stylist who applied them, the method used, and how well you take care of them. Most people wear their hair extensions anywhere from two to six weeks. Your stylist can help you decide when your extensions, braids or weave should be replaced.
If you are curling Pro10 in Caucasian hair that is not extremely curly or coarse, use a ceramic tool at temperature as high as 300. Additional information on heat styling is here
In African American, medium to coarse texture, you are correct that temperature settings at which you curl Pro 10 and human hair will have to differ. You can find a chart comparing Pro 10 and human hair here.

Want tighter curls on your Pro10 Hair Extensions made with Ultima? Kimmie Lemard, a Pro10 Ambassador Stylist, says:
“Although Pro10 always recommends a low heat setting of 266 degrees for curling, you can accomplish a much tighter curl by increasing the heat setting just a little bit up to 300 degrees. Remember to use a ceramic iron.”
