Hair, not only hair but YOUR hair is a very sensitive subject for many women. That topic becomes even more difficult for us girls who wear hair extensions. There are just so many—clip on, snap on, glue on, weave on… it seems you may never know about all that’s out there.
That’s how I was feeling when I first heard about Prota Regular Weaving. Prota Regular Weaving is not human hair, its also not synthetic hair. Prota is 100% natural collagen protein. Prota hair extensions look, feel, curl or straighten just like human hair. There are a few exceptions with Prota; you cannot color, or chemically treat Prota hair extensions.
When I first used Prota Regular weaving on my hair I was not at all skeptical about it. Because the Prota hair does look and feel just like human hair, and the texture is so close to my own that I was excited to see how it would turn out. I would say that I underestimated Prota, I thought just as soon as I put it in I would be taking it out just because it was not my usual 100% human hair.
Once I had applied and styled the Prota, I couldn’t come up with one complaint, it was inexpensive, the perfect length, color, texture, very comparable to human hair. I was able to easily maintain: I wrapped my hair every night, and sporadically sprayed moisturizer (alcohol free) into it when needed, and also bent the ends of the hair for a smooth curl some mornings. This is also the same thing I do to maintain my human hair weave. I was able to wear Prota happily for 6 weeks. (That is my ideal time length for any weave. I don’t recommend leaving any weave- on or bonded extensions for longer than 6-8 weeks).** If you have to wash the hair you can wash and shampoo with a gentle moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. During this process make sure to smooth the hair with the shampoo from the scalp to the ends, do not scrub the hair (use the same technique for the conditioner) -allow the hair to air dry, or sit under a hood dryer, then style as usual. Temperature settings under 300 degrees are recommended.
I couldn’t get a chance to tell anyone about Prota because; if you didn’t know me you wouldn’t even know that I was wearing hair extensions. As for the people I did know I didn’t get a chance to tell the people I knew about Prota, because they would always ASK me first! Prota is now a hit with me as well as many of my associates.
I really love Prota.
Sincerely,
Raven

A No Bad Hair Days blog reader asks: What’s the best method of hair extension if you want side bangs ?
Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: There are many different ways to a style with side bangs.
It doesn’t matter if the hair extensions are sewn in, glued in, or applied with a quick weave.
The key is to leave out a horseshoe-shaped parting of your own natural hair, along with a bit of your edges on the side where you want the part. Then the stylist should braid or mold the remaining hair.
Be sure to just leave out enough hair so it can fully cover the tracks that will be placed underneath, then your stylist can cut and style you extensions as you like.

No Bad Hair Days Blog Reader, Ashley asks: How long can I wear my weave and can I wear it wet ?
Got a question for the Ambassador Stylists?
Ask it here.
Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: You should never keep a weave in longer than three months.
And you should only keep it in that long if you are keeping your scalp and natural hair properly maintained the whole time. And if the weaved hair is still in looking good.
But you should only leave in your weave for four to six weeks if your natural hair texture tends to dread without a relaxer, or just after a prolonged period. More »

A No Bad Hair Days Blog reader asks: Once Pro 10 hair extensions are applied with the sewing method, how long will the hair last? Human hair can last up to three months. Can this be achieved with Pro 10?
Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: Yes Pro 10 hair extensions made with Ultima Organic Protein Hair can last as long as human hair extensions. But of course maintenance is the key to the overall healthy appearance. Rollers, twist or pin curl sets will also help you keep the curl pattern in your hair extensions. See the Easy Care information on the Ultimahair website.
