Wearing extensions made with Ultima hair. R&B songstress Natasha flaunts 3 Yaki styles. Made from organic protein, Ultima is the closest thing to human hair.
The collagen protein gives Ultima its soft, lustrous appearance, natural look and feel which is similar to human hair. Ideal for extensions, wigs weaves and braiding.
By using low heat, you can work with the natural texture of Yaki hair without compromising its feel. The bangs were kept long and full for added drama. For a natural feel, style with low heat at 270º Cut to highlight all of its sharp angles. To balance out the points, slightly cover one eye to exhibit a sexy contrast. A sleek finish is achieved by using a water based créme followed by a light bevel.Create long bangs and flat iron with serum.
Graduate the hair on an angle with precision. Long hair needs to be shaped for an authentic look. Use a flat iron and style with an oil-free serum.
Cut hair on a sharp angle and flat iron bone straight.

A No Bad Hair Days blog reader asks: What’s the best method of hair extension if you want side bangs ?
Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: There are many different ways to a style with side bangs.
It doesn’t matter if the hair extensions are sewn in, glued in, or applied with a quick weave.
The key is to leave out a horseshoe-shaped parting of your own natural hair, along with a bit of your edges on the side where you want the part. Then the stylist should braid or mold the remaining hair.
Be sure to just leave out enough hair so it can fully cover the tracks that will be placed underneath, then your stylist can cut and style you extensions as you like.

A No Bad Hair Days Blog reader asks: How come hair salons charge so much for a sew in?
Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: When you pay a licensed cosmetologist more for a service at a salon, you are paying for expertise and professional training.
That’s why professional cosmetologists who work in salons charge more than than you’d pay an amateur who works in their kitchen or basement.
A professional cosmetologist will have the products, tools, organization and knowledge to perform specific and multiple techniques as needed.
Before investing in your extension service, be sure that the stylist specializes in weaves so you end up with the best results possible.

No Bad Hair Days Blog Reader, Ashley asks: How long can I wear my weave and can I wear it wet ?
Got a question for the Ambassador Stylists?

Ultima Ambassador Stylist O’Kela Neveaux says: You should never keep a weave in longer than three months.
And you should only keep it in that long if you are keeping your scalp and natural hair properly maintained the whole time. And if the weaved hair is still in looking good.
But you should only leave in your weave for four to six weeks if your natural hair texture tends to dread without a relaxer, or just after a prolonged period. More »
